We are living in an era where we are being sold the idea that we need to be in our ‘feminine Vs masculine’ energy (or vice versa) & I’m quite frankly done with this diminishing societal propaganda.
As humans, we each are made up of both feminine & masculine energy characteristics, strengths & capabilities; we are capable of harnessing the skillset on both sides of this polar opposite ‘energy’ to embody what it truly means to be a healthy & balanced human operating at their full power & potential.
As a woman, how many times in recent years have you heard that we are too much in our ‘masculine’ energy & we need to get into our ‘feminine’ energy to attract a partner?
“Oh, you’re single? It’s because you’re too much in your ‘masculine’. You need to get into your feminine energy. Guys don’t like women in their ‘masculine’, it puts them off”.
But what does this mean, to get ‘into your feminine energy’?
Feminine energy is receptive, it is about embracing empathy & emotional expression, it is soft, nurturing & creative. Feminine energy is quiet & doesn’t focus on logic, action & achievement. It is more about ‘being’ rather than ‘doing’.
Feminine energy requires that we supress the traits of masculine energy.
Masculine energy is the opposite & is associated with traits such as logic, ambition & action. It is logical & rational, goal oriented, protective & assertive, direct & decisive & doesn’t focus on emotional expression or empathy. It is about ‘doing’ rather than ‘being’.
Masculine energy requires that we supress the traits of feminine energy.
So, as a woman, I am supposed to be soft, subservient & without goals or rationality? I am supposed to be submissive & relinquish my decision making to someone else?
I am supposed to just ‘be’ & to ‘feel’ but certainly not ‘do’.
To whose benefit would that be? Certainly, not to my own.
As a man, how many times have you been told to harden up or told that you’re soft. How many times did you shove down your feelings & express emotion as anger instead, because anger is the only ‘acceptable’ way a man may express emotion?
How many of you tell yourselves that you go to the gym for fitness, rather than to punch out the loudness of your overwhelming emotions?
“Girls don’t like guys that cry, it puts them off. Don’t tell her you like her, it’ll put her off. Treat ‘em mean, keep ‘em keen”.
So, as a man, you are supposed to be hard & robotic, be cold & decisive, subservient to action, to goals & to rationale? You’re not supposed to feel sad, because you’re not supposed to feel.
You are supposed to just ‘do’, rather than to ‘be’. And again, certainly don’t ’feel’. But alas, you still ’feel’!
To whose benefit are these rules? Certainly, not to your own.
If as a woman, I am goal oriented & take action towards my goals, if I am logical, direct, assertive, make my own decisions & pay my own bills, I am ‘too much in my masculine’ energy (meaning I am behaving as a man) & society says this is my weakness.
If I am to believe this propaganda, I would have to accept that it is outside of my own capabilities & power as a woman to harness these skills from within myself.
Instead, I am strong & if you are a person who cannot see the strength it takes for a woman to go against this outdated societal expectation & utilize a skillset which has always been within her own personal capabilities as a human being, then I feel sorry for you.
If as a man, you were to be empathetic & nurturing, to express your emotions or at least to feel your emotions in a manner other than to yell & punch holes in the walls, if you were to focus on improving your emotional wellbeing & not solely focus on lifting weights & ‘getting big’, if you sought therapy or took vitamins & supplements towards your emotional wellbeing, you would be too much in your feminine energy (meaning, you are behaving as a woman) & society says this is your weakness.
If you are to believe this propaganda, you would have to accept that it is outside of your own capabilities & power as a man to harness these skills from within yourself.
Instead, you are strong & if you are a person who cannot see the strength it takes for a man to go against these outdated societal expectations & utilize a skillset which has always been within his own personal capabilities as a human being, then I feel sorry for you.
We all have the capability to be so & to be strong, but I am sorry for those of you who remain within your pigeonhole of societal expectations & limitations, those who are told you must only be either one way or the other. It’s as if the universe gave you two eyes to see, yet you choose to look with only one eye because someone with an agenda told your ancestors to do so many, many moons ago. I am very sorry for you who are blinded to your own full potential.
I personally will not entertain anyone in my life who would require me to diminish my capabilities & dim my strength to fit into their limiting expectations because I choose to embody the entirety of my natural skillset which consists of both ‘feminine’ & ‘masculine’ energy.
I am strong AND I am nurturing.
I am direct AND I am empathetic.
I am decisive AND I am receptive.
I am goal oriented AND I am creative.
I am loving AND I am assertive.
I am logical & rational, AND I am expressive of my emotions.
But I will not be subservient.
I will not supress half of these strengths within myself in order to fit into society’s expectation of me as a woman, & nor should you do so as a man.
What an obedient society we have been so far, to abide by these outdated rules created by someone with a personal agenda long ago. To diminish your human potential & reduce our own personal power by half. We’re chasing our tails & keeping ourselves small. Because many moons ago they said I am ‘XX’ & you are ‘XY’, but the truth is that contained within us both is the entire alphabet, in both you & I.

Chronic inflammation plays a role in common disorders such as anxiety & depression, ADHD, schizophrenia, asthma, diabetes, some forms of cancer, migraine, myopathy, gastrointestinal disorders such as IBD & IBS, neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s & Parkinson’s, autoimmune conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, coeliac disease, cardiovascular disease, disease of the joints, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, allergies, chronic fatigue syndrome, to name but a few.
Common to these types of pro-inflammatory disorders is that they appear amongst the top 5 causes of death amongst men & women in Australia as well as plaguing society as a whole, leading to disability of young & old alike.
What exactly is inflammation & does it serve a purpose?
Inflammation forms a natural part of the body's defense mechanism. It is the process in which the immune system recognizes & removes harmful substances or stimuli from the body in order for the healing process to begin.
Inflammation is basically your body trying to remove the harmful substance & begin the process of healing itself. The problem is that if we continue to ingest or expose ourselves to environmental toxins & pro-inflammatory substances, our bodies cannot keep up & this is where disease manifests.
Unfortunately, the modern diet of processed food is flooded with chemicals, additives, preservatives & toxins that most of us have no idea what we are eating. And if you combine that with low levels of physical activity which slows down the body's natural detoxification processes, you are creating the perfect storm for chronic disease to manifest.
You literally are a result of what you eat, drink, do or don’t do & you manifest this into your reality one bite at a time.
Eating a healthy diet can often be seen as a sacrifice people are unwilling to make because they don’t want to give up their favourite meals of convenience. But the reality is that the more healthful foods you include in your diet, the better you’ll feel. And the better you feel, the less you’ll want to reach out for those meals of convenience because feeling healthy & well is sure damn addictive.
I tend to view it from a different perspective in that I am no longer willing to sacrifice my health & well-being for the sake of the modern diet.
The food you eat can either be the safest & most powerful form of medicine or the slowest form of poison.
